"I have nothing against cheap (in taste, if not price any more) Easter egg chocolate; I have always loved shattering that thin shell and letting the creamy, milky shards of chocolate melt in my mouth.  But, for some reason, this year my yen is for something altogether more grown up, and my egg of choice is dark and dense, its richness undercut by a pleasing bitterness (which I concede may be too brutal for the sweeter-toothed) and - here's the thing - covered in a gossamer-thin layer of eau-de-nil coloured, mint-flavoured chocolate which itself is decorated with elegant curlicues of dark chocolate, the whole thing sitting on a chocolate plinth.  It is a thing of great beauty, and looks as if it comes out of the boudoir of one of the great French courtesans. 

I hasten to add that the reason I'm writing about it now, a whole week before Easter, is not just because I am so greedy that I have already nibbled my way through it all in advance (though of course I have) but because it seemed altogether a more altruistic act to bring your attention to it in time for you to be able to share the joy.  "
